A 30-second animation with traditional characters is presented by El Jimador Tequila in honor to Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) in November 2.
“While a traditional Hispanic celebration, Day of the Dead coincides with the Halloween season and is increasingly seen by the mass market as part of that holiday period. It represents a big marketing period for us, as does the upcoming World Cup Soccer event in 2018, as we are an official sponsor of the highly touted Mexican national team. Scoppechio will be activating some exciting plans for us in support of these important initiatives,” said Ed Carias, senior brand manager for the North American region.
Animation was produced in collaboration with Buck Designs out of New York and music was added from acclaimed guitarist Emmet O’Malley, who worked with Haus International to create the accompanying music track. Animation design was in part inspired by Day of the Dead artist, David Lozeau, who created signature artwork for the campaign promotion on-premise.
The agency in charge of this project was Scoppechio Advertising.
Brown-Forman is also launching limited-edition Day of the Dead bottles across the UK for the celebration on 2 November. This Mexican festival honors those who have passed away through food, music and art.
The packaging has been designed in collaboration with David Lozeau and features vibrant colors and cool illustrations of traditional skeletons.
